GAP - #4
Hello everyone!
Another week, another update. In previous post we announced about big changes in UI. So, almost the whole week was devoted to it. As I mentioned we decided to do it from scratch. And foundation is laid. It is not our first project where we do custom UI. But, unfortunately, we can not just copy paste what was done before. This system is totally different. All UI widgets will extended Split Container.
The Split Container consists of two panels that can contain other controls. These panels are separated by a splitter used to resize the panels. All PC windows are Split Container. And currently it looks like that:
As you can see containers react to mouse move, and it means more specific UI elements like buttons, checkbox can be already implemented on this basis.
We worked not only on programming part of the UI, but also on its appearance. We think good design and user experience is what GAP needs.
Beyond that , we worked on predefined lua export scripts. Custom export is cool stuff, but there will be a set of export scripts with possibility to choose one you need. We plan to support all major game engines and frameworks data formats. Not all will be implemented at once, but some of them are ready and will be added in the next version.
